Indonesia – Mangrove Planting (31 Oct 2023)
Fonterra and GAPMMI (The Association of Indonesian Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs) members play an active role in supporting the BPOM (Indonesian Food and Drug Authority) Net Zero Carbon Programme by planting mangrove trees for the next three years.
This mangrove planting demonstrates Fonterra's commitment to supporting carbon emission reduction. In addition, this activity also provides benefits of protection against abrasion and natural disaster risks, control of water and air pollution, natural resource potential, and maintain ecosystem balance and health.
The planting was represented by Afiffudin as Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Director and Nain Milawati as Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager.
Philippines – Tree Planting (30 Nov 2023)
With the key aim of ensuring the annual million trees challenge (AMTC) is sustained for its five-year duration and even beyond, Fonterra Brands Philippines is supporting the Million Trees Foundation for tree planting by 30th November to preserve and restore the ecosystem functions of seven critical watersheds which are AMTC’s beneficiaries, and even more watersheds nationwide.
Malaysia – Charity Run (22 Oct 2023)
Uniting for a cause – the Fonterra team in Malaysia came together to support our Good Together Wellness initiative by participating in the Pink Spark Ride & Run event organized by Diamond & Platinum, a premium diamond & jewellery brand line in Malaysia. For every ticket sold, RM10 will be contributed to the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, the first not-for-profit cancer organisation in Malaysia that provides education, care, and support services for people affected by cancer and the general public. We took the opportunity to also contribute some Fernleaf UHT milk to be enjoyed by participants post-run.
Singapore – Chinese New Year contribution to the Sun Love community (3 Feb 2023)
Our Singapore team rallied together to make a generous contribution to the Sun Love community to support their activities for residents. To be able to give is truly a blessing; and to give unconditionally is wisdom. Our team visited the Sun Love Abode (home for the intellectually-disabled) and volunteered to serve dinner, and had conversations that brought immense joy and cheer to the residents.
Australia – Helping Plant Sustainable Seeds in Young Minds (9 Aug 2023)
In heart of West Gippsland, the Warragul Playgroup now boasts garden beds, soil, plants, and top-notch gardening equipment.
The playgroup received a donation from Fonterra to establish a Veggie Garden Program, setting them up to learn about healthy lifestyles and sustainable practices.
Representatives from Fonterra’s Darnum site joined the playgroup to help bring the program to life, spending time building garden beds and planting alongside the kids.

When children learn these values from an early age, it lays a solid foundation for them to become environmentally responsible adults who appreciate and respect the environment around them.
