Fonterra Emergency Response Team ready to respond + video

“Whenever we’re needed, we’re able to rally those troops. We’re able to get our guys together quite quickly, and get across and offer support that goes beyond Fonterra.” – Peter Laurent, Health & Safety, Risk and Projects Manager

At Fonterra our Emergency Response Teams (ERT) help to keep our work places safe. What you might not know is that these teams also volunteer their services in communities around New Zealand.

Places like Edgecumbe and Northland, who were hit by flood stricken weather, and Christchurch and Kaikoura who were badly affected by the earthquakes — our ERT teams were there offering support and back up to emergency services.

It’s a big commitment but one that 129 specially trained Fonterra employees across 11 New Zealand teams, and 54 employees across nine China teams feel proud to be a part of.

Any Fonterra employee who wants to join can, and Fonterra accommodates and allows for this to happen.  Check out the video below for a taster of what it’s like to be on an ERT.
