Dairy Partners Americas
Fonterra forged an alliance with Nestlé in 2003 to create Dairy Partners Americas (DPA) which produces ingredients and consumer products, with strong brands in the liquid and chilled dairy market throughout Latin America. The alliance incorporates two businesses: A consumer chilled and liquid products business and a milk procurement and milk powder and ingredients manufacturing business. Fonterra licences brands and provides its large-scale milk procurement, product development, and manufacturing and processing expertise, as well as technical services and certain technology to the alliance. Nestlé licences brands and provides its product development, manufacturing and processing expertise, as well as distribution infrastructure to the alliance. DPA operates 15 manufacturing sites in the region and has more than 4000 employees.
Fonterra and Dairy Farmers of America joined forces in 2000 to form DairiConcepts to develop, manufacture and distribute innovative application-specific cheese and dairy ingredients for the global food industry. DairiConcepts is based in the USA where it has nine manufacturing plants, two development laboratories and a pilot testing plant that work together to create and manufacture customised, on-trend products with superior flavour delivery. These products are sold to iconic-brand food companies, foodservice providers, pizza and restaurant chains and industrial and private label food manufacturers.
Since 2001 we have used our exporting expertise to assist DairyAmerica, an association of four major United States co-operatives, to reach global markets with its skim milk powder (SMP) products. In 2011, DairyAmerica also began to use the Fonterra-developed online trading platform GlobalDairyTrade to offer SMP to international customers.

Through this partnership, we market dairy ingredients and supply foodservice products throughout the Sub-Saharan region in Africa and combine the strengths of our international supply base with Clover’s strong regional platform.
DFE Pharma (DFE)
