For over a century, we’ve been collecting and unlocking the goodness of milk, and today, we share it to more than 140 countries around the world.

Since 1997, Fonterra Brands Lanka has been collecting milk from its local farmers for set and stirred yoghurt, drinking yoghurt, fresh milk and flavoured milk. Currently, milk is collected from 4500 local dairy farmers.

We have been providing high-quality dairy products to our people in Sri Lanka for more than 40 years. As a dairy co-operative from New Zealand, we are committed to bringing our decades of expertise to Sri Lanka, working hand-in-hand with local farmers, communities and other partners to create a thriving local dairy industry.

Globally our team carries out more than 14 million quality tests on our milk and products every year to ensure they are of the highest quality and are completely safe for consumption.

History of over 20 years collecting local milk

We collect milk from 4500 local dairy farmers and use this to strengthen our local dairy portfolio of set yoghurt, drinking yoghurt, fresh milk and flavoured milk.

Our Sri Lankan Heritage

In the 1970s, we began selling Anchor milk in the country to provide dairy nutrition to our consumers. Anchor milk powder quickly became a hit and was followed by the opening of local processing sites.

In the mid-1990s, Anchor Newdale was launched – a fresh dairy range including yoghurt, flavoured milk and curd that uses milk sourced from Sri Lankan farmers. Anchor Newdale dairy products are now a leading choice for Sri Lankan families.

Today we offer a wide range of dairy solutions, from a variety of milk powders to fresh dairy products, allowing us to cater to a broad spectrum of Sri Lankans – from toddlers, kids, families with children and adults, to chefs and restaurants.

Fonterra is also a leading supplier of dairy ingredients for food and beverage manufacturers in Sri Lanka.

Our Location

We manufacture our products in Biyagama at our state-of-the-art powder and liquid plants.  

Our powder plant packs over 475,000 packs of milk powder every day, including some of Sri Lanka’s favourite dairy brands Anchor, Ratthi, Anlene and Anchor Pedia Pro.

Our liquid plant processes about 40,000 litres of local milk every day, turning it into fresh dairy products for the Anchor and Anchor Newdale brands, including UHT milk, pasteurized milk, flavoured milk, set yoghurt, stirred yoghurt and drinking yoghurt.
