Fonterra Australia welcomed New Zealand Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Christopher Luxon, to its Campbellfield site based in Melbourne’s northwest this week.

The Campbellfield facility is one of Fonterra’s three secondary cheese processing sites in Australia, and it turns Mainland™ and Perfect Italiano™ cheese into blocks and slices ready for consumers.

"Fonterra was delighted that the Prime Minister chose to visit our business while in Melbourne. It was a great opportunity to demonstrate how Fonterra performs on the global stage, and how close the New Zealand and Australian businesses are,” Fonterra Global Markets CEO, Judith Swales said.

“We outlined our vision to integrate two critical parts of our business, our Fonterra Brands New Zealand and Fonterra Australia businesses, to create Fonterra Oceania. With comparable marketplaces, cultures and customers, there are great synergies and opportunities by bringing them together,” she said.

Fonterra Campbellfield Site Manager Veselin (Vic) Filipendin expressed immense pride in hosting the New Zealand Prime Minister and noted the genuine excitement it generated among the team.

“We are incredibly proud of the work we do here at Campbellfield. The improvements we have made over the past three years are thanks to the efforts and innovative thinking of our people. It was a privilege to demonstrate this to such a distinguished guest,” Mr Filipendin said.
