Fonterra has taken home an impressive 47 gongs at the Dairy Industry Association of Australia (DIAA) Australian Dairy Product Awards.

Of these 47 awards, Fonterra’s Spreyton site won six for its Duck River butter and milk powder, while Wynyard took home two national awards for the highest scoring cheddar cheese, as well as two gold and two silver medals for is cheddar and Colby cheese varieties.

Fonterra Spreyton Site Manager, Doug Overdijk, said these awards confirm the quality of Fonterra’s dairy foods made manufactured in Tasmania, and the quality of milk supplied by farmers in the region.

“It’s fantastic that our skilled teams have been recognised for their expert craft and the quality dairy they make.

“We are extremely proud of the exceptional products made in Tasmania, and we’re grateful this has been recognised by industry experts.

“We’ve got some of the best dairy know-how in the business, which is the key to making great-tasting, quality dairy foods Australians love.

“Congratulations to our people who strive to maintain the highest quality dairy, and our dedicated farmers who supply us with the best milk for the job,” said Doug.

The awards are hosted annually by DIAA and act as a gateway to the Australian Grand Dairy Awards. Entries are judged on technical merit by industry experts selected for their specific dairy product knowledge.
