Embracing Sustainability

Working together, for tomorrow

We’re committed to producing dairy nutrition in a way that cares for people, animals and our environment, and brings value to our communities.

Our New Zealand farmers are already among the most efficient in the world, with one of the lowest on-farm carbon footprints in the world. But we’re not stopping there.

We know we have the opportunity, and the responsibility, to influence for good and make a difference for New Zealand and the world.

Our Sustainability Report shows the progress we’re making towards our environmental, social, and economic targets – while also recognising there is more work to be done.

Our approach

A sustainable future for our Co-operative is core to our strategy – it’s how we create long-term value for future generations.

To deliver this we are taking an integrated approach that include People and Culture, Nature and Working Together.

People and culture involves caring for people to make a positive social impact, Nature is about achieving a healthy environment for farming and society, and Working together recognises that we can deliver more through collaboration and strong relationships.

Our commitments

Our commitments underline the kind of long-term positive difference we want to make for our people and our planet.

We were the first dairy company in New Zealand to have our emission reduction targets validated by the Science Based Target initiative. This is just one of many targets we’ve set, and we’re focused on accelerating progress towards these.

Sustainability Reporting

We cannot build our business by borrowing from future generations. We must take a long term view about how we act today and tomorrow to ensure the sustainability of dairy farming in New Zealand.

Our Climate Roadmap is our strategy, the path that takes us towards our 2030 targets and ambition to be net zero by 2050.
