There’s a unique combination of nutrients in dairy, and they play an important role in growing and maintaining healthy bones, your immunity, the functioning of your nervous system (including your brain), helping to prevent tiredness, maintaining healthy eyes, and so much more.
But there’s also power in the individual components of milk in helping manage and recover from injuries and illnesses. For example, milk proteins are used in advanced medical nutrition products and help nourish and rehabilitate patients and there’s even a unique dairy-derived probiotic which has shown promising results in lowering the risk of postnatal depression and anxiety.
We often talk about the untapped potential of milk because our scientists are finding new benefits from dairy all the time – we’ve only scratched the surface.
Milk is a natural source of many of the valuable nutrients people need. It is one of the richest sources of readily available dietary calcium and also contributes many other essential nutrients including protein, phosphorus, potassium, vitamin A, riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3) and vitamin B12.
Dairy is who we are and what we do best. With more than 100 years of New Zealand expertise in developing nutritious dairy products, we’re dedicated to discovering new ways to deliver the unique health and wellness benefits of dairy.
We offer dairy products that meet the different health and wellness needs of our consumers all around the world. This is based on a belief in quality products, sound science and 'doing what's right' by our consumers.
We provide a wide variety of options in dairy to suit most people including regular, reduced-fat, low-fat and skim varieties, as well as calcium-enriched products. In its various forms, dairy enables a multitude of ‘better for you’ foods from products designed to aid growth and development in children, right through to low-fat convenience foods for adults.
We continually work to improve our product portfolio and ensure we provide a range of healthy products for families. In 2019, we released a newly reformulated recipe of the much- loved yoghurt brand Fresh‘n Fruity. We reduced the amount of added sugar by 40% on average across the range compared to the original Fresh’n Fruity recipe. We also reduced the amount of added sugar in our Anchor CalciYum Flavoured Milks by at least 30% across the range compared to the original recipe.
With 93 years’ experience in dairy nutrition, our Research and Development Centre is the world’s leading dairy innovation hub, and it supports our regional technical centres to deliver customer support and commercialise a range of everyday consumer products.
