Local community groups get a leg-up thanks to the Fonterra Grass Roots Fund

From unearthing the next Shane Warne, Dean Jones or Cameron White at the Dennington Cricket Club to supporting budding architects and engineers at Ulverstone Primary School on Tasmania’s north coast, over 40 deserving community groups across Victoria and Tasmania will receive a leg-up from the latest round of funding from the Fonterra Grass Roots Fund.

The Warragul Bowling Club will install a new drinking fountain near its bowling green, giving its players ready access to fresh drinking water. 

The 2019 recipients in Gippsland include:

  • Leongatha Secondary College

The Camperdown Playgroup will purchase crafts for its children so they can learn and build skills through visual art.

The 2019 recipients in Western Victoria include:

  • Camperdown Swimming Pool Committee of Management
  • South Beach Committee of Management-Lake Bullne Merri

The Ulverstone Primary School will build a shade sail over its sandpit so its students have sun protection year-round.

The SGR Giants will provide each of its junior players with footballs, giving all players an opportunity to develop their skills.

The Greensborough Scout Group will provide its members with new camping equipment so they everyone can enjoy outdoor activities.
