Fonterra Oceania tastes success at 2025 International Cheese and Dairy Awards
Fonterra Oceania has once again proven its world-class dairy credentials, our consumer brands bringing home an impressive haul of awards at the 2025 International Cheese and Dairy Awards (ICDA) in the United Kingdom.
The awards are one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions across the globe to champion world-class producers of cheese and dairy.
Fonterra Oceania’s consumer brands from both sides of the Tasman stole the spotlight at the cheese industry’s global night of nights taking out a total of 12 medals.
Fonterra Oceania Operations and Supply Chain Director, Rob Howell is proud of what our teams have achieved on the world stage and believes it is a testament to their commitment to the craft of making outstanding quality consumer products.
“These wins truly reflect the passion and dedication of our teams both in Australia and New Zealand, who continue to develop products that stand out on the global stage that our consumers love.

Each year the team show the world what they are made of, this year taking home 10 of the top cheese awards, including the prestigious Reefers 90s Trophy for Best New Zealand Cheese for Kāpiti Ash Rind White, expertly crafted by the team in Bridge Street, Eltham, Taranaki.
New Zealand’s winning brands
- Trophy winner: Kāpiti Ash Rind White
- Gold medals: Kāpiti Rarama Washed Rind, Kāpiti Ash Rind White, and Kāpiti Kakato Gouda
- Silver medals: Kāpiti Kānuka Smoked Havarti, Kāpiti Ash Rind White, Kāpiti Bridge Street Blue, and Kāpiti Tomme Style
- Bronze medals: Kāpiti Kahurangi Creamy Blue and Kāpiti Awa Bold Blue

- Gold: Best Australian Cheese – Mature Cheddar, showcasing the depth of Fonterra’s cheddar expertise by the team at our Wynard site in Tasmania, Australia.
- Silver: Duck River Salted Butter, crafted by the team at our Spreyton site, Tasmania, highlighting the exceptional quality of Fonterra Oceania’s butter portfolio.
These wins truly reflect the passion and dedication of our teams both in Australia and New Zealand, who continue to develop products that stand out on the global stage that our consumers love.
