Fresh milk helping fight hunger

As one of Foodbank’s National Milk Program partners, Fonterra Australia was humbled to receive the 2019 Foodbank Award for our contribution to help fight hunger in Australia.

Foodbank’s National Milk Program is unique to Australia and reaches over 700,000 Australians each month.

As one of the program’s founding partners, we donate 100,000 litres of fresh milk to Foodbank each year, which goes to schools around the country so that students don’t go without breakfast.

It also helps pensioners and vulnerable families who are struggling to put food on the table.

As one of Australia’s largest food manufacturers, we recognise the role we can play in helping to combat hunger in Australia. Dairy is one of the key staples sought after by welfare agencies and through the partnership, now in its 12th year, we’re able to bring the goodness of dairy to all Australians, even the most vulnerable.

The award was presented at the Australian Food and Grocery Council’s 2019 Food and Grocery Australia conference.
