Fonterra has partnered with the Cobden Football Netball Club, home of  The Bombers, for another season.

Since 2016, Fonterra has been a proud supporter of the Club, providing funding towards new equipment, ground and club room maintenance, and the creation of new teams.

Fonterra Cobden Site Manager, Nick Hayes, said country sport plays a crucial role in bringing communities together, so the Fonterra Cobden team is delighted to be supporting the Cobden Football Netball Club, which gives so much back to the community.

“For the last seven years, Fonterra has been a proud supporter of the Cobden Football Netball Club, and we are thrilled to be able to continue this partnership.

“The Club is the sporting hub of our community – a number of our people and our farmers have pulled on the boots for The Bombers over the years,” said Nick.

Cobden Football Netball Club president, James Green, said the Club has a proud history and has very strong football and netball teams.

“Funding from local businesses like Fonterra is important, as it allows us to purchase new equipment for our teams and we could not do what we do without it.

“By investing in the growth and development of our community sport, Fonterra is not only investing in the dreams and aspirations of each individual who proudly wears our team colours, but also in the health and wellbeing of our community.”

The Club hopes to build on its great football heritage, which boasts a number of AFL stars over its 93-year history.

“A number of AFL players have their roots in the Cobden Football Netball Club from their junior days, including Geelong star Gary Rohan, Essendon’s Zack Merrett, North Melbourne’s Ben Cunnington and 2019 NAB Rising Star medallist, Sam Walsh from Carlton and Sean Darcy from Fremantle,” said James.
