The Proud to be a Chef 2024 winners have been announced following a fast-paced mentoring program for 32 aspiring chefs from around Australia, with Georgia Manganas from The Shellharbour Club in Wollongong clinching a coveted international culinary scholarship.

For more than two decades, the Proud to be a Chef program, powered by Fonterra and Anchor Food Professionals, has helped to fast-track the careers of around 800 apprentice chefs, providing an unparalleled opportunity to learn from the best in the business and refine their culinary skills.

In February 2024, 32 apprentice chefs from around Australia will head to Melbourne for a four-day gastronomic adventure, with extraordinary dining experiences, trips to some of Australia’s most famous food-inspired locations, and a fast-paced mentoring program with masterclasses and skills workshops.

The foodservice sector in Australia has been one of the hardest Australian industries hit during COVID-19, with restaurants, pubs, and cafes in some states forced to close to patrons and swiftly adapt to rising demand for takeaway and home delivery.
