Grant & Danielle's farm | Northland

From the farmers

Hi, we’re Grant and Danielle and we have been farming in the Kerikeri area for six years. Before this we spent two years farming in Taranaki after moving away from Auckland. We currently milk 640 cows with the help of our staff Steven, Sarah, Jordan and Mikaira.

Grant works full time on the farm and Danielle helps where needed along with organising the local Dairy Women’s Network and a few other community organisations. We were attracted to farming so we could live and work on the land and provide the opportunity to bring up our children in a rural community.

We have two daughters – Sarah is five and-a-half and Ruby is 18 months.

Our Farm and Environmental Story

All of our waterways are fenced to prevent stock access. Filtering between paddocks and waterways is provided by vegetation and planting and we have put in place plans to increase our riparian planting over the next few years. All of our dairy effluent is applied to pasture to remove the need for extra fertiliser in these paddocks and we don’t discharge any effluent to the waterways.

Community Groups we are involved in
