Owen is the Managing Director of Greig Farming Ltd, a family-owned farming operation based in the Manawatu. Under his strategic direction and management, the farm has grown through land and business acquisitions.

This success has been achieved through the establishment of excellent operational and governance processes and systems. The high regard for the operation and its success contributed to Owen’s election to the Fonterra Shareholders’ Council in 2009. He considered this an important role which required him to represent approximately 300 Fonterra shareholders and take their concerns and issues to Council.

Owen’s current governance roles include Chair of the Manawatu Chamber of Commerce and Chair of Hunting and Fishing New Zealand. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Talent Central.

His previous governance experience includes Chair of Manawatu Federated Farmers’ Dairy Section, Chair of Young Farmers (Kairanga) and a member of the National Organising Committee for Young Farmer of the Year.

As a director Owen would bring valuable experience from a strong and varied history, access to a wide network, total commitment, energy and a huge drive to succeed also a strategic mind that can see the way forward and evaluate the noise on the way through.
