Fonterra Alumni 2018 - 2019

Hi, My name is Nick Webster. Kate and I and our three daughters live near Oamaru in North Otago.  Our farming business includes a 200 ha dairy farm milking 700 cows which we are now into our fourth season and a 450 ha beef finishing / cropping operation. 

Bought up in the family business where a number of outside or independent peoples skills where used, alongside a ‘light bulb’ moment I experienced on a course in Australia has led us to have our business overseen in an advisory capacity by a number of independent people including an independent chairperson.

These people bring different skills and perspectives to the business and have a history in agricultural governance. It is a part of our business I find extremely stimulating and rewarding.

I am excited about the opportunity to undertake the Fonterra governance development program as I see it as a chance to expand my skills in this area while learning from and meeting like-minded participants.
