After leaving school I studied law at University of Otago and then worked as a commercial solicitor in Wellington for 3 years before going farming.
I have been farming for 22 years and gradually built up a 900 cow operation and a water filtration business in Hamilton. When I turned 45 years old I decided it was time to downsize and simplify our business to allow me time to pursue other interests. We now have only the 400 cow farm that we live on which is run by a lower order sharemilker.
I have returned to university and am currently half way through my Masters in Law at University of Waikato specializing in environmental law and agriculture.
