Jessie and her husband Hayden are dairy business owners, leasing 420 hectares in Mid Canterbury, milking 950 cows.
She has an Honours (First Class) degree in Animal Science and has completed the Fonterra Governance Development Programme, the Food and Agribusiness Marketing Experience, the Professional Development Course for Co-operative Directors, and the Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme. She received the 2014 Canterbury Institute of Directors Aspiring Director Award and the 2017 Fonterra Dairy Woman of the Year Award.
Jessie is currently a Director of Ashburton Trading Society, Bio-Protection Research Centre and RuralCo, and a member of NZ Asian Leaders. She has previously served as a Fonterra Shareholders’ Councillor, on the Board of Federated Farmers Mid Canterbury, Business Mid Canterbury, Connetics Ltd (one-year internship) and DairyNZ (Associate Director).
