Gillian Fullerton-Smith

Gillian has spent 20 years dairy farming in New Zealand and has converted several farms from dry-stock to dairy. Currently she is in a family partnership with two farms in the Waikato region.

Gillian’s initial career found her in the North Sea Oil industry as a Petroleum Engineer working offshore. She worked throughout Eastern Europe and Kazakhstan in the Petro Chemical industry based in Paris.

Gillian currently manages Waikato Milking Systems European and Latin American businesses and prior to this she managed the dairy automation team for the Tru-Test Group, a large New Zealand based international agri-tech company. Gillian currently hold a directorship in an IT start-up company.

Spending three years living in Chile with a focus on farming, Gillian managed a team of sales staff, technicians and product development engineers in dairy automation and milk cooling.

Passionate about dairy, cows and farming, Gillian is actively involved in the New Zealand dairy community. Gillian’s weekends are normally spent on the river, as her children are competitive rowers, or on the family farm milking and feeding calves.
