I have 20 years of international experience working in foreign exchange and interest rate markets. My career took me offshore for 12 years to Tokyo and London - but it was the desire to give my children a Kiwi childhood and to run my own business that bought me home to New Zealand.
In 2007 I became the Owner/Operator of McDonald’s Whakatane and during my five years in the business I was appointed to the Franchisee Kiwi Leadership (KLT) team. The KLT worked with McDonald’s Senior executives in the planning and management of the business operations on behalf of the operators.
In 2011 I decided it was time to pursue my long term goal of becoming a grocer and in November of that year, I joined foodstuffs as a trainee operator. On May 27 th 2013, I became the owner of my first store, New World Kawerau.
I am currently a Trustee of the Eastern Bay Energy Trust, chair of the Education Committee within the trust and was on the board of Energy Options, a company that was owned by the trust until it was sold in June 2012.
I am very motivated to pursue this type of role further in the future and in particular I would relish the opportunity to become part of the next generation of leaders on behalf of the Members of Foodstuffs.
