Kevin and Gillian milk 850 cows on 250 hectares with young stock on 58 hectares adjoining the dairy platform. They also own a commercial pig farm on the same property, running 250 sows which in turn produce 5950 bacon weight pigs sold per year.
Kevin was elected to the Fonterra Shareholders’ Council in 2010, representing and acting as a two-way conduit for Fonterra and farmers in the Waipa area. He is currently a member of the Performance Committee having chaired this Committee for two years while also serving on the Leadership team of Council at the same time.
For the last six years he has been Chair of Directors of a pork marketing and wholesaling company, Five Star Pork NZ Ltd, and has been on the Board of that company for approximately 13 years. That business has an annual turnover of $12 million.
Kevin is currently Chair of a Community Trust, Cambridge Resthaven, an aged care facility in Cambridge. This is a not-for-profit not-for-loss organisation with assets of $46 million.
He is a current member of the Cambridge Rotary Club and a Justice of the Peace. Kevin places great value on living in a strong community minded environment and enjoys contributing to his local Roto-o-Rangi and Cambridge communities.
