PKW produces over three million kilograms of milk solids and is Fonterra's largest Taranaki supplier. It does this on 20 per cent of its land with most of the residual land leased out. This land forms the basis for many other Taranaki dairy businesses.
Hinerangi is motivated to participate in the Fonterra Governance Development Progamme by the desire to be an ever useful tool for the organisations and communities she serves. Hinerangi's governance experience spans iwi, tertiary education, SMEs, philanthropy, economic development and agribusiness. She serves on the board of Generosity NZ that provides information and access to $4.6 billion of philanthropic giving.
Hinerangi is a Trustee of Agri-Women's Development Trust and supports the notion that all parts of the dairy industry and wider agricultural sector, including women and Māori, be engaged and enabled to contribute and innovate through diverse experiences and ideas.
Hinerangi and husband Kiwa Hammond established AATEA Solutions in 2000 to help unlock potential through training, research and strategic communications. They help organisations engage authentically for mutually beneficial results. They have bases in Taranaki and in Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, where they now live with their five children. Hinerangi is a fifth generation custodian/trustee of their whanau farm in Hawera.
