Abe de Wolde arrived in New Zealand with his wife Anita and their two children in 1991. Together they now own and operate the Woldwide Farming group, an entity that milks about 4000 cows in Central Southland, producing two million kilograms of milk solids a season.
Abe is CEO and Anita CFO. Together they try to combine best farming practices from around the world in one operation. Their farming business is self-sustained and high-input.
A tendency for pioneering led to being one of the first dairy conversions in Central Southland in 1992 and to building the first free stall barn in Southland in 2006.
Abe is still managing hands-on and finding a way to move the business into the future sustainably. Passionate about the New Zealand dairy industry, he is interested to take up governance roles in addition to his involvement in the home business.
