Alumni Biographies 2009-2010

Greg Kirkwood

I currently live close to Dunedin with my wife Kelly and my 10 yr. old twin children, Phoebe and Max.

I have been a dairy farmer for 20 years, starting my career in the Waikato in 1995 and then moving south to North Otago in 2002.

Our progression through the dairy industry has been of a traditional nature moving from junior dairy worker through to the farm ownership of our current 2500 cow dairy business.

I am currently a Fonterra Shareholders Councillor (ward 32 Sth Canterbury) and sit on the Performance Committee.

My current directorship roles are for Concept Farms Ltd (our dairy business) and Oritain (certainty of Origin).

In 2009/10 I completed the Fonterra Governance Development Programme and in 2011 was a participant in the Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme.

Robert Poole

Born in 1963, I have been married to Clare since 1988. We have 4 children, aged 27 to 20. The main focus of my life until about 7 years ago has been family and farm in that order. In 2009 I attended the Company Directors Course NZIOD and in 2011 undertook the F.A.M.E programme studying supply chain management . As part of this, I travelled through China gaining insight into various business including Global Horticulture, Fonterra, Biovittoria and Gung-Ho Pizzas.

My current directorships include:
