Our Shareholders' Council

There are 35 Shareholders’ Councillors, elected to represent the interests of Fonterra’s farmer shareholders. Each Councillor is elected by farmers within the ward they represent.

Duncan Coull was elected as Chairman of the Council in July 2015 after serving as Deputy Chair since 2014. Duncan was first elected to the Council in 2010 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Otorohanga. Duncan is a member of the Council’s Leadership Team, is one of the Council’s representatives on Fonterra’s Co-operative Relations Committee and is a member of the Governance Development Committee. Previously Duncan Chaired the Representation Committee and served on the Performance Committee.

Sue Rhynd was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2016 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Central Northland. 

Greg McCracken was elected in 2016 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Southern Northland. Greg is a member of the Council’s Co-operative Culture Committee and has been a member of the Co-operative Development Committee.

Julie was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2013 to represent Fonterra Farmers. Julie is Chair of the Co-operative Culture Committee, has been a member of the Representation Committee and served as Chair of the Council's Budget Committee. 

Ross Wallis was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2013 to represent Farmers in Hamilton. Ross is a member of the Council’s Co-operative Culture Committee and served as Chair of the Representation Committee. In 2016, Ross is participated in the Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme.

Malcolm Piggott was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2012. Malcolm is a member of the Council’s Co-operative Culture Committee and has served on the Co-operative Development, and Representation Committees.

James Barron was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2016 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Matamata. 

Don Hammond was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2016 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Western Bay of Plenty.

Kevin Monks was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2010 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Cambridge. Kevin is a member of the Performance Committee and served as Committee Chair for two years. Prior to being elected to the Council Kevin was a Fonterra Networker.

Matt Pepper was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2014 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Rotorua. Matt is a member of the Performance Committee, is Chair of the Budget Committee and serves on Council’s Leadership Team. 

Wilson James was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2014 to represent Fonterra farmers in Eastern Bay of Plenty. Wilson is a member of the Council’s Governance & Ethics Committee.

Vaughn was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2013 to represent Farmers in Coastal Taranaki. Vaughn is a member of the Council’s Co-operative Culture Committee and has served on the Co-operative Development Committee.

Noel Caskey was elected to the Shareholders' Council in 2011 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Central Taranaki. Noel is a member of the Council's Co-operative Culture Committee, serves as Taranaki’s representative on Fonterra’s Regional Engagement Group and has been a member of both the Representation and Co-operative Development Committees.

Ben Dickie was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2016 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Southern Taranaki. 

Andrew Hardie was elected to the Shareholders' Council in 2015 to represent Fonterra farmers in Hawke's Bay. Andrew is a member of the Co-operative Culture Committee.

Robert Ervine was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2016 to represent Farmers in Southern Manawatu. 

Sue Brown was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2015 to represent Fonterra farmers in Tasman/Marlborough. Sue is a member of the Governance & Ethics Committee and has served on the Performance Committee.

Shaun Lissington was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2014 to represent Fonterra farmers in North Canterbury. Shaun is a member of the Co-operative Culture Committee and has served on the Co-operative Development Committee.

Jessie Chan-Dorman was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2016 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Rakaia. 

John Stevenson was elected in 2017 to represent Fonterra farmers in Wairarapa

Michelle Pye was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2016 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Southern Canterbury.

Ad was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2013. Ad is a member of the Performance Committee and is Otago’s representative on Fonterra’s Regional Engagement Group. Ad previously served on the Representation Committee.

Ivan Lines was elected to the Shareholders’ Council in 2013. Ivan is a member of the Performance Committee and has served on the Governance and Ethics Committee.

Emma Hammond was elected to the Council in 2014 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Eastern Southland. Emma is a member of the Co-operative Culture Committee and has served on the Representation Committee.
