Local organisations encouraged to apply to Fonterra Grass Roots Fund
The Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club is reminding other community groups in the area to take the opportunity to apply for Fonterra’s Grass Roots Fund by 16th December.
Dean Kilpatrick, Junior Co-ordinator of the Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club, says the club received Fonterra funding this year that helped purchase two new surf rescue boards.
“We are thankful for Fonterra’s support which will help us keep our communities safe. The process to apply for the grant was a lot easier than we thought, with a simple application form to complete.”
Since 2011, Fonterra has supported over 300 initiatives across Victoria and Tasmania that focus on bringing communities together, caring for the environment and promoting healthy lifestyles and dairy nutrition.
Andrew Nooy, Regional Operations Manager – West, says that communities are an integral part of Fonterra business, which is why we believe in giving back by helping sustain healthy, vibrant communities through sponsoring ideas, projects and initiatives that make a real impact.
“The Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club is highly regarded for keeping our communities safe, and provide excellent training for our up and coming Surf Lifesavers.
“The Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club fits within the criteria of bringing communities together, and we’re pleased to be able to support them with what they do for our local area,” says Andrew.
The Fonterra Grass Roots Fund opens the doors to a wide range of community projects with grants between $500 and $5000.
Applications for the next round of grants close on Friday 16 December 2016 and Fonterra is encouraging organisations to ask for help to get their projects underway so they don’t miss the deadline.
