Brownes wins accolade at Australian Grand Dairy Awards for firm family favourites
Brownes is the recipient of a prestigious Australian Grand Dairy Award for its Traditional Natural Style Yoghurt, announced yesterday afternoon in Melbourne.
Contested by a record 413 entries, an Australian Grand Dairy Award represents quality, excellence and innovation in Australian dairy produce, recognising only the ‘best of the best’.
Peter Tedesco, Managing Director Fonterra Brands Australia said the award acknowledged the place Brownes had in people’s hearts and minds as a firm family favourite.
“Brownes is an iconic West Australian brand with a strong and loyal following; consumers recognise the Brownes brand is synonymous with quality,” he said.
“The Traditional Natural Style Yoghurt is popular with consumers who love its versatility, great taste and nutritional benefits.”
In 2009 Brownes launched a brand new look and marketing campaign designed to refresh and reinvigorate the brand.
“Brownes is the largest fresh dairy business in Western Australia and the largest collector and processor of milk in the State – some 130 million litres of high quality milk is collected from our farmers each year,” said Mr Tedesco.
“Not only is the milk sourced locally, but all Brownes products are produced locally at our Brunswick and Balcatta manufacturing sites.
“Congratulations to the Brownes team who are passionate, loyal and committed to growing the Brownes brand in Western Australia.
“Thanks must also go to our milk suppliers who consistently provide us with the high quality milk essential to the production of these great products.”
