Fonterra’s Dairymas site, located in Shah Alam, Malaysia, was built in 1999 to help cater to Malaysia’s growing appetite for yoghurt and UHT dairy products.

Occupying 15,000 square metres of land – about the size of two football fields – our Dairymas site is one of the biggest liquid dairy processing sites in Malaysia.

The site processes approximately 10,000 metric tonnes of liquid dairy per year, turning it into CalciYum drinkable yoghurt, Solivite cultured milk drink, CalciYum cultured milk food and Anlene yoghurt.

These products are mainly produced for the Malaysian market, but are also exported to neighbouring Singapore and Brunei.

Focused on reducing our environmental footprint, we are always looking at how we can invest in new technology to make our operations greener.

In 2012, Fonterra Dairymas installed magnetic switches and water-saver guns, optimised clean-in-place regimes for the yoghurt plant, and decreased the water flow in the homogeniser. This helped to reduce the site’s water consumption by 60 per cent. Our efforts to conserve energy have resulted in more efficient use of water and electricity.

To ensure that we make products of the highest quality and food safety, the site adheres to international and local industry standards including HACCP, Veterinary Health Mark, ISO 9001:2000 and GMP. Our products are also certified Halal by JAKIM.
