Fonterra’s Spreyton site is one of three Fonterra sites located in Tasmania, and is home to the multi-award-winning Duck River butter.

Established in 1997, the Spreyton site employees 140 people. Each day, the site collects 1.2 million litres of milk from local dairy farmers in northern Tasmania and has the capability to produce around 30,000 tonnes of product each year. 

Two thirds of Fonterra Spreyton’s production is in the form of high quality skim milk powders, while the remaining products are a combination of butter, dairy spreads and buttermilk.
